We at Lyons Computers undertake the following types of data recovery at our
location in Birmingham, Alabama.
- Data recovery after a computer crash
- Data recovery after a virus attack -- upon recovery, we quarantine the
files for you
- Data recovery after you get a new computer.
- Some types of data recovery after a hard drive crash
- Data recovery after a Blue Screen of Death
- Data recovery from USB Thumb Drives and External Hard Drives
- RAID Server Failure
- Malicious Sabotage (by competitors, hackers or disgruntled employees)
- Unmountable Boot Volumes
- Initialization Errors
Data recovery process is ridden with risks. Our data recovery success rate is
about 95%. We advise our customers of their risk before we begin work and ask
for authorization.
To prevent a crash in the future it is recommended to set up a remote data backup to
protect your files in the future. We have designed a
decision making guide for you to decide
whether in-house or remote backup solution works best for you.

Identical twins are sometimes necessary to repair crashed drives

Cost of Data Recovery
Based on our experience, data recovery costs between $85.00 to $500.00 and
depends on the size of the hard drive, type of failure, attempts required to
recover data.
We require a diagnosis fee before we can attempt to recover the data,
because the technicians have to "look at" the drive to determine the cause and
damage.
Many types of crashes are correctable via software tools (corrupted Master
Boot Record, lost partition, bad sector recovery).
Data Recovery from Failed or Failing Hard Drives
Lyons Computers can recover data from almost dead or dying hard drives. Ours
is a non-destructive recovery -- that means we don't do anything to damage it
further, and instead will tell you to use a clean-room facility.

Example of Partial Data Recovery from a Failed Hard Drive
In this case, Lyons was able to recover about 75% of the files, including
all important ones
Recovering Data from USB Thumb Drives
Data recovery from a flash drive poses different problems because it's all
one miniature chip. If your flash drive is broken at the tip or at the circuit
where the tips are joined, sometimes our technicians can solder it back just
enough to retrieve the data.

Damaged USB Flash Storage
Depending on the damage, we can recover the files on it by temporarily repairs
Clean Room Recovery
For data recovery from tapes or for disk drives that need a "clean room"
recovery, we offer a dust-free clean room recovery service. Price starts
at $300.00 please call
